This past week Reba and I joined the hordes of transplants and vacation goers jamming the airports for the holiday season. In addition to reaquanting ourselves with friends and relatives, I continued my 3-year epic struggle to clear out the piles of junk collecting in their basement. My motivation was partially fueled by guilt.
Yes, some of that stuff was mine. Childhood memories, useless garage sale finds, and college t-shirts that were once treasured but later abandoned to become dust collectors. I can't take all of the blame. The rest was contributed by the other members of a family with heightened skills for survival hording.
